Hi Mike,

We have returned back to Melbourne safely. We just wanted to say thank you very much for your professional handling Nielsen teambuilding group in Hanoi. Overall, it was excellent and fabulous. Every single member enjoyed the game - the rallye cyclo was that fun. Kathy, your guide was so efficient and professional. She is really really good in 'bargaining"!
The social dinner on the Potomac was great. Food was good and we drank alot - wow as it was a free-flow!!! I did not sing but other members must have been pretty enjoyable as I can see they sang so many...

Just a idea, if you allow, to help you in the future for better organization of the cyclo rally. You should fix the time at each station and tell to each individual guide to be stricter to the cycloman as I can see the cycloman intended to be back the station earlier than scheduled time.

Your service in last minute deal like this was too good. We will certainly recommend friends and organizations to use your service in the future.

Take care,
Harley

Dear Lan

Thank-you so much for all your help with our holiday to Vietnam. We had a wonderful time. We loved the country and thought the people were very friendly and helpful.

Our hotels were fantastic and we enjoyed our tours very much, especially the Mekong Delta and the SOS village. My friend Libby and I tried to teach the Kindergarten children a song in English. Both our guides, Tam and Vinh were excellent.

If I have friends travelling to Vietnam, I will give them your email address.

I have attached a photo of us- from Left to right- Linda, Libby, myself and Carmel. The cyclo ride in Hoi-An was fun.

Thanks again

Hello Mike,
do you work day and night? Is this your business? Very professional! (you guys must also be making great money charging $24 per visa approval, but it certainly is more convenient than going to the Vn embassy in some countries ;-)

Yes, anh Sherman lives in Hanoi. He can come by Monday if you are sure that the visas will be approved.

So you will send a confirmation letter? Can you send by email (pdf)? If fax only then email exact time you will send and I will connect my computer to the phone line to receive the fax. I will give you the number if you need it. Then when they arrive at Noi Bai they show the letter and will be able to purchase the visas there?

Thanks again.

Thank you anh Quyet/Mike.

I have contacted my friend Sherman and am awaiting his response to ensure he will be able to make it by Monday. I will confirm with you as soon as possible. Thank you for the map. It is very helpful. Thank you for trusting me. Yes, I looked at other services but was impressed by your professional response.

I must say, your written English is very good. Did you study in another country? Are you Viet Kieu?

Hi Mike,

Many thanks for all the arrangement of our tour. The whole family is very happy with everything. We are all very impressed what Vietnam and found everything is better than our expectation. Your arrangement was great.

Let me try to give our comments about the tour:

South (HCMC):
a. The tour guide, Vinh is very professional. He speaks good English with good pronounciation. His knowledge is very good.
b. Majestic Hotel is pretty good. Location wise is one of the best.
c. Transport: Car in Saigon is good. Just a little suggestion: The driver should bring a small step / stool for older folks to enter the car as it is quite high from the floor to the car.
d. Cu Chi tunnel is very impressive. I do recommend this place for anyone visiting HCMC to appreciate the braveness and hardship of Vietnamese people during the war. I admire you guys based on what I saw in Cu Chi tunnel.

Center:
HOI An, Hue, and My Son
a. We skipped Marble Mountain and the museum in Danang and went to My Son instead. We believe this is a better choice as we learned more of the old Vietnam kingdom from visiting My Son.
b. The tour guide is another Mr. Vinh. His vocabulary is very good. He can improve his pronounciation.
c. Hotel Victoria Hoi An and Imperial Hue are pretty good.
d. Transport: Car in Central is good. Small improvement to do: The trunk section can be cleaned a bit more and provide step /stool for older folks.

North (Hanoi):
a. Tour Guide: Mr. Kanh: Some improvement of his English is recommended. He is a very nice guy though.
b. Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum wasn't in the itinerary. However, we insisted on going there right after we arrive from airport. We were not disapointed. We believe this Mausoleum should be visited by each new visitor to respect more of Vietnam's past. Suggestion: we came in with early flight to Hanoi and your company should recommend or provide some itineraries to us to fill in the time, instead of just bring us to hotel and not doing much.
c. Transportation: Not as good as the ones in HCMC and Center. The seat is not convenience, not enough leg room and too straight to sit comfortably.
d. Sofitel Metropole is a class above the other hotels. EXCELLENT hotels.
e. Halong Bay: One of the best place I have ever visited. However, you should informed us when making the booking that there are better rooms with own terrace. If we were given the options, we would choose the better rooms as it only cost slightly higher than our room with no terrace. With the additional fees, we could enjoy Halong Bay more by seating outside in the terrace.

OVERALL: VERY GOOD. I will recommend our friends to go to Vietnam and also recommend your company.

Many thanks,
Sumanto Hartanto

Hi Mike

Sorry for the late reply, as I was busy till now. Well following are some comments for your kind perusal.

1. Lucky Hotel – I remember requesting for a 3-Star hotel, but unfortunately you've got a 2-star for me. It is quite disappointed especially on the cleanliness. This is the negative point. Nevertheless, the accessibility to Hon Kiem Lake and Old Quarters various shopping area is quite convenient. This is the plus point. [Am I getting a rebate for 2-star instead of 3-star Hotel?? Hehe!!
2. Travel Itinerary – This is the perfect itinerary. We totally enjoy all of it. But it seems that Hanoi is normally closed by 8pm onwards. So nothing much to shop about after we finish our itinerary. But this a general business operation hour of Hanoi and nothing that we can complain about. Nevertheless a short walk to Hon Kiem Lake at night is really fascinating and relaxing.
3. Tour Guide – Mr Binh is an extremely nice man. Nothing much to comment on him except for perfect tour guide service. One little disadvantage is his English is not as fluent and we are having a little difficulty in understanding him. I did notice that other tour guide has a very fluent, even English accent, English. Other than this, Mr Binh is a perfect guide in terms of service.
4. Driver – He is extremely kind and did notice that his work is not easy at all, especially snarling thru the busy Hanoi streets. Very careful and polite driver
5. Halong Bay, Tam Coc & Van Phuc is really unforgettable place to visit. In fact, I am organizing another trip to visit Halong Bay again somewhere in December. We were planning to stay longer overnight at Junk probably 4D3N at Bai Tho Junk 89 (very new & nice & comfortable). Other than that, we are also planning to visit Sapa this time round & Hue if possible. Please advise number of days require for approximate such itinerary

That's all for now and we are looking forward to see you again in December.

Bye

Just to thank u for the wonderful tour guide ( fun loving Ms Kathy).
And then to thank u for recommending ELIOS hotel ... after HANOI PALACE HOTEL ...
we were begining to doubt the standard VIENAM delivers for 3 stars hotels (one of our bathrooms at Hanoi Palace
floods whenever we use the bathroom but it was too much hard work trying to argue with the hotel as to the source of the leak )

We are very happy here at ELIOS .. and the staff so professional.

Quyet:

Greetings from Colorado sir !! We are back home and I am back at work - that is hard after all the good times we had in SE Asia.
I figured I would give you a quick review of the trip for your records. I will break the trip into 3 parts as that makes most sense to me at least. I stated most of this in the "reviews" but figured I would write directly as well.
a) North Vietnam.
we REALLY enjoyed Hanoi and just walking the city and seeing the sites - you live in a dynamic city.
Going to Sapa and to Halong Bay was great although the weather could have been better. No big deal though - we still had a wonderful time in both these very unique settings.
Whin was a great guide. He was low key, seemed to know his stuff and knew when to step back and just let us be on our own - no concerns here.

ISSUES
It would have been nice to understand the weather better ahead of time. It was cooler than expected and moreso I thought we would have seen more sun.
It would have been nice to be given some guidance on tipping drivers and guides. We pretty much went with a $4-6 per day per person rate as this is what we heard from some folks here in Colorado - I hope those numbers were okay - like I said we just had NO idea what to do. I certainly didn't want to give bad tips so if these were bad please accept my apologies.

b) Center Vietnam
much warmer !! Beautiful beaches
In retrospect based upon weather in Hue and the lack of free time in Hoi An we would have just as soon had an extra day of R&R in Hoi An at the Beach and not gone to Hue.
Tiger and Handsome were good guide/driver combinations although Tiger is a bit more "over-concerned" about clients. Even during lunch he checked on things with us - Ann and I are much more relaxed than that and really didn't need the extra attention. No big deal for us but this might be a little overbearing for others.
The Tourist locations we visited in Hoi An seemed a to be a bit more "pressure" than we wanted. The folks at these places really almost expected you to buy something even if we didn't really want or need something. You might consider scaling back on a few of these - those of note (the historic house in Hoi An (the daughter or whoever it was that toured us seemed very upset that we weren't going to but something), and the Marble works "factory" in C Vietnam seemed overly contentious when we just wanted to see what they did - not buy.

c) Cambodia
Getting the tickets was a bit of a hassle but worked out fine and it happened during a rainstorm so we were able to visit a bit with the folks that brought them by - very nice.
Kaden, the guide we had was great (not a single complaint) - The hotel was really good and a great way to finish the trip - another day or 2 would have been great in Siem Reap but we were limited by our time. We had 2 dinners at Khmer shows and one would have been fine and a dinner on our own the second night would have worked out a bit better. Angkow Wat, Angkor Thom etc were really outstanding places to see. I would love to visit S Cambodia and see the beaches there - maybe next time !!

All in all we rate the trip VERY Highly. It was wonderful to be back in SE Asia and to relax, sight see, people watch and eat GREAT food. I would recommend your service to anyone with no concerns (other than that written above) and if we return to SE Asia I would use your services again.

Thank you so much for all your help - I will send pictures in the next few days ....
