Sofitel Vinpearl Resort & Spa is located on Hon Tre Island a few minutes off the coast of Nha Trang, 450km north of Ho Chi Minh City and a two-hour drive from Dalat in the central highlands. It is 30 minutes from Cam Ranh International Airport, which offers direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and will be linked to international air travel later in 2005.
The five-storey resort opened in December 2003 with 230 rooms and suites with an additional 270 rooms planned. It is fronted by a private bay with a 700-metre stretch of white sand beach and features three swimming pools, including the largest in Vietnam of over 5,000sqm.
There are also numerous sports and recreation facilities including four tennis courts, fitness centre with daily aerobics class, driving range and putting green, archery range, mountain bikes, Kid's Club, table tennis and game room with pool tables, Mah Jong and chess.
A feature of the hotel is the resort's spa and health centre. All treatments at the Qi-Vin Pearl Shiseido Salon & Spa are created and managed under strict regulations of Shiseido Japan with a distinctly Vietnamese touch. The luxurious facilities include an indoor pool.
Dining and entertainment options include three restaurants serving Vietnamese, Asian and International cuisine, and two bars.
The resort's Grand Ballroom can accommodate over 700 delegates theatre style and is divisible into two function rooms. There are also three additional meeting rooms for smaller gatherings.
Sofitel Vinpearl is an ideal base for dive and water sports enthusiasts. The hotel dive centre offers PADI diving courses and can arrange dive and snorkel trips to Nha Trang's protected marine area, which features nine islands and over 100 species of both fish and coral. Other water sports available at the hotel include jet skis, wake boarding, wind surfing, kite surfing, ocean canoeing and parasailing.
Sofitel is also the most prominent international 5-star brand in Vietnam. Sofitel Vinpearl will be the fifth Sofitel in Vietnam, joining the legendary Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, Sofitel Plaza Hanoi, Sofitel Dalat Palace and Sofitel Plaza Saigon.
The launch of the Sofitel Vinpearl Resort & Spa is part of the largest ever expansion of the Sofitel brand in the Asia Pacific region. Some 20 Sofitels are planned or under development in Australia, Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, China and Thailand, which will extend the network of Sofitels in the Asia Pacific region to 50 hotels by the end of 2006, making Sofitel the largest network of 5-star hotels in the Asia Pacific region.

THE RESTAURANT AND BAR
Lotus Cafe: The restaurant features a traditional breakfast buffet plus a selection of both Vietnamese and Japanese dishes. The a la carte lunch and dinner menu features Western and Asian food.All-day dining in the lobby area, with lovely views of the lush hotel gardens and lagoon. Seats 184 (124 in-door, 24 outdoor and 36 in a luxuriously appointed private room).
Asiana Restaurant: The Asiana restaurant stands alone on a promontory overlooking the South China Sea. Open for dinner only, a specialty restaurant serving regional Asian dishes and fresh seafood.A contemporary Asian seafood resraurant built on a cliff with superb views out to sea and al fresco area to enfoy local and Asian seafood specialties from fish tanks, seafood displays and also a teppanyaki cooking staion. Seats 72 (indoor and outdoor dining)
Sea view Lounge: Complementing the Lotus Cafe with a relaxing area to sip cocktails, enjoy tea or coffee, or a light snack. Live piano music from 6PM until late nightly. This lounge overlooking the pool and the sea. Seats 180 (80 in the lounge and 100 in the main lobby area).
Beachcomber: Located between the lagoon and the sea, providing popular poolside snacks, light meals, ice creams, pastry and cakes, espresso and a colourful array of cocktails and drinks all day. The Beachcomber has a friendly, casual resort feel and plays modern music.Evening feature lavish barbecues. Seats: 138
Asiana Bar: This bar is located in the Asiana Restaurant with views out over the South China Sea. A perfect location for romantic evenings. Opening hours : 18:30 - 22:00
BUSINESS FACILITIES
Conferences and Meetings: Ballroom for up to 1,000 guests with business support and telecommunications facilities. This will be the largest facility of its kind in Central Vietnam, adjacent to lush gardens, making it also suitable for predinner cocktails and al resco events.
