Night 1 (Sat): Hanoi – Overnight train to Lao Cai (no meals)

Tonight you will take an overnight train for Hanoi to Lao Cai, A/C soft sleeper 4-berth sharing cabin on a tourist train.

*Note: please get a reliable taxi from your hotel to Hanoi train station (we recommend to use Mai Linh or Group taxi, ask the driver to turn on the meter, costs abt 3-5$/transfer), about 3km from Hanoi old quarter areas to train station “Tran Quy Cap Station B” for train to Lao Cai

Day 1 (SUN): Lao Cai – Muong Khuong Sunday Market – Sapa (B)

Early morning: arrive at Lao Cai Train station, have breakfast at local restaurant. Take a transfer to Muong Khuong market, 55 km far from station – the trip offers beautiful scenery of terraced rice paddies, lush fruit farms, tea & pine plantation…

Arriving the market, you will spend the whole morning joining the local tribal peoples of different groups coming from remote villages to attend the market for their most important week-end activities. Shopping, meeting, contacting, socializing with locals and try to taste the smell of Thang Co – a special food of ethnic people! It is easy to recognize the H’mong and DZao through the colorful dresses and head gears.

You will have a short time for a quick lunch while the market is holding.
Be back to Sapa center or Lao Cai station for your night train back to Hanoi. Trip ends here.
