Van Trinh Cave, Phat Diem Stone Church – 1 day (Trip code #1202)
Pick up at hotel drive to Ninh Binh. Take boat trip to visit Van Trinh - About 30 minutes of boat trip from Kenh Ga is the Van Trinh Cave. The cave is equal in its size to Taing Kong Cave in Ha Long Bay.
A trail starts from where the boat will drop you, and goes along amazing rice fields until it reaches the cave itself. Along the trail you can meet farmers on their way to work or to their home. Inside the cave, look for a natural formation, high on one of the walls, that looks like a praying monk (or if you wish - to a friendly alien).Continue to visit Phat Diem stone church - he center of Catholicism in North Vietnam is the Phat Diem Cathedral. The cathedral is unique for its Buddhist pagoda shape. It was built in the years 1875-1899, and includes a network of pools, lakes, churches and artificial caves.The interior of the cathedral expresses the contrast between Christianity and local culture, and Chinese dragons are foudn where saints and Christians angels are.The cathedral is situated 28 km south-east to Ninh Binh, and the entrance is free of charge. It is recommended to visit on a Sunday, when the locals come for mass, or during Christian holidays, if you are lucky.

Hanoi Perfume Pagoda – Ninh Binh (Trang An grottos, Van Long, Kenh Ga) 3 days/ 2 nights (Trip code #1205)
Day 1: Hanoi – Perfume pagoda full day (no meals)
0730: Pick up at your hotel, depart to visit Perfume Pagoda. The Perfume Pagoda (Chua Huong) is in fact a vast complex of pagodas and shrines built into the limestone Huong Tich mountains. From the middle of the second lunar month to the end of the third lunar month, it is the site of a very popular religious festival which draws large numbers of pilgrims. You first start the trip by boating on a river among a beautiful karstic landscape, then you hike quite a long trail, which is all lined up with stands of food and religious souvenirs, to reach eventually the main sanctuary in a cave. Along the way, there are a great number of other places to worship. It is a festive occasion for the Vietnamese who often make the trip in large groups.
Enjoy a 1.30 hours boat trip on Yen (Swallow Bird) stream and visit Trinh temple before disembarking at Ben Duc (Duc quay). Following is a short trek to Thien Tru pagoda (the main pagoda). Get up to the mountain peak by cable to visit pagoda inside grotto Huong Tich, where people often come to pray for health, luck, ... etc. Return to Thien Tru Pagoda area on cable car and row back to Yen boat quay and we will ride back

Pick up at your hotel, drive to Trang An, take a boat trip to visit Trang An grottos for 3 hours.
