This morning we took a ride by a local van to Lang son, crossing border at noon. After a taxi ride to the town of Ping qiang, we bought our train tix and had lunch at a local Chinese restaurant. We were impressed because the restaurant looks basic but is equiped with a large air-con and the foods are very good

We boarded the train at 14h40. It was a airconditioned train. Arriving at the statiion of Nanning, we waited 25 minutes before a friend of us in Nanning came to pick us up.

We went to her house for dinner. Received by her father, her uncle and her aunt, we were treated with a Chinese family meal of chilly and hot food. An wonderful memory

We stayed at a hotel opposite the train station, named Ying Binh hotel (welcoming hotel) which has big Vietnamese letters on the wall: “Nhiet liet chao don ban be Vietnam den voi khach san Nghenh Tan”. It is very convenient since it is in the city center and has in-room internet and free laudry. Room rate is RMB 118/twin

Tomorrow we will discover the city and will go to Guang Zhou in the evening

Such a good start of a trip
